Ngannou posts heartbreaking message after tragic death of 15-month-old son

Francis Ngannou

After hearing about the devastating event that occurred in Cameroon where Ngannou is from, he took to social media and shared a deeply saddening message.

Ngannou questioned the reason for existence when we strive to avoid things that end up hurting us the most.

Why does life seem to be so unjust and cruel?

Why is it that life always seems to deprive us of what we desire the most? I am extremely exhausted and frustrated.

Afterwards, he shared a memorial message for his son that revealed his deep pain. The message stated: "It's too early for him to depart from us, but he has already gone. Kobe, my beloved son, my friend and my ally, was always brimming with happiness and vitality."

Currently, he is lying motionless. I repeatedly called out to him, yet he remained unresponsive.

When I was with him, I felt like I was the best version of myself. But now that he's gone, I feel lost and unsure of who I am. It's just not fair how life has a way of hurting us where it hurts the most.

"What is the best way to manage this situation? Is it even manageable? I would appreciate any suggestions as I am at a loss as to how to handle this."

There is currently no additional information regarding the reason for death, but Ngannou's social media post revealed that his son, Kobe, was born in January of the previous year and passed away on Saturday.

Ngannou has received words of encouragement from supporters and important figures in the world of boxing, MMA, and other sports.

Anthony Joshua, who was once in competition with the person being referred to, posted a statement that expresses his desire for the memories they shared to bring them comfort.

Francis, I am deeply saddened to hear about your loss. Please know that I have included you and your family in my prayers during this difficult time. These words were expressed by Conor McGregor, a previous UFC global champion.

Frank Warren, who promotes boxing, shared a message on the internet expressing his sympathy for Francis Ngannou and his family. He stated that the news is very unfortunate.

Marvin Vettori stated, "I am saddened to hear this news, Francis. Please accept my sincerest condolences."

Henry Cejudo wrote on social media: "Francis, I deeply apologize for the pain you are feeling right now. Losing a loved one is the most difficult experience that one can face in their lifetime. Although we cannot fully comprehend the tragedy, I believe that we will all reunite with our loved ones one day. Please know that you are cherished, my friend."

Dillon Danis expressed, "I apologize brother, maintain your strength."

The coach of Ngannou, Eric Nicksick, shared his thoughts on social media about the sad event. He expressed his sympathy for the Ngannou family and the burden of emotions they are experiencing. It is difficult to put into words the sorrow felt during this time.

Keep Francis and his family in your thoughts, and let this serve as a reminder of how fragile life is. Express your love more frequently, as we can't be certain of tomorrow.

Ngannou became the champion in the UFC's heavyweight category and later transitioned to boxing for matches with Tyson Fury and Joshua. His upcoming appearance will be in the Professional Fighters League.

The Cameroonian is famous for his inspiring journey from poverty to riches. When he was a child, he worked as a labourer and earned only £1.50 a day. Later, he lived on the streets in Paris but he didn't give up. He was discovered at a gym and went on to become a champion in the sport of cage-fighting.
